Kaplan High School first in parish to receive new security system

VERMILION PARISH – Kaplan High School is taking extra measures to make sure its students and faculty are safe.

The school is the first in the parish to start using a new security system.

Once doors are closed, administrators and employees must use their key fobs to get inside.

Students and guest have to buzz-in and be given permission to enter.

“It has added another layer of protection and the community should feel safe if their children come to school here,” said Janet Guerrini, Principal of Kaplan High School. “And that they’re going to get #1, great education and #2, they are safe in this building.”
